Quin, Thomas J. III |
Quin, Thomas J. III Acton Funeral Home, date of death August 16, 2010 age 71, a former longtime Acton resident, died Monday evening, August 16, 2010 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester. He and his wife, Mary Ellen (Landry) Quin, were to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in January. Born in Arlington and raised in Acton, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Jr. and Wilda (Marsolais) Quin. He attended elementary school in Hudson and graduated from St. Charles in Waltham. Mr. Quin was employed for a time at General Motors, but worked for most of his career for Raytheon in Waltham and Andover before retiring in 2001 after about 25 years. His family affectionately referred to him as "Mr. Fix-it," as he enjoyed completing many woodworking, engine repair and handyman projects. But he especially loved anything that involved being with his family, especially his beloved grandkids. He and his wife lived in Acton for most of their lives, moving to Athol 8 years ago. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Michael Quin and wife Traci of Townsend, Thomas M. Quin and wife Judy of Ayer, and Susan Boucher and husband Peter of Fitchburg; brothers, Jack Quin of NH., and Steve Quin of FL.; a sister Wilda Halverson of CA.; 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Quin. Services for Mr. Quin will be private.
